It's mostly a lot of fun.
Some bits are frustrating. I'm not sure how much of it is the game having rough edges, and how much is just me being new to it.
There are definitely some terrain glitches. You can run along for a while and then just stop, for no apparent reason, because there's some invisible thing that you've just stuck your foot in. There's also the occasional graphical glitch, such as clothes colliding improperly with bodies; once I lost some of my textures but bouncing the game fixed it. Bits of the UI are extremely irritating to use. It also has the annoying feature of crashing if you try to camp back to the login screen.
On the other hand, it is very VERY pretty. It's not cartoony like WoW; neither does it suffer from drabness like certain other games I could mention. The people are very good looking. Everything is very detailed, but the colours are saturated and it gives a good fantasy feel - a bit like being in a Technicolor movie. The quest system is occasionally overly helpful, but I assume I'll come to appreciate that as things get harder. :P
I have 2 characters so far, both on the Wiccana server. A level 6 Dark Templar named Nyame, and a level 13 Conqueror named Phidiana who will probably only be played on Saturdays with the group. I'll likely create a few more characters to try out the different classes; no idea what I'll end up sticking with.
The system requirements are a little steep. We have shiny new his-and-hers desktop PCs to play it on. Now we're off to Ikea to get actual desks for those... (-:
